  • 9/27 (SAT) 9:00-1:00 : Plant Profiles - Mural painting party, Northampton. We'll finish up the community mural and get started on a series of plant profiles showing edible plants (wild and planted) along the rail trail, their edible and medicinal uses. Materials provided. Meet on the Rail Trail under the rt. 10 bridge near the Round House Parking lot, not far from the Peter Pan Bus Station.
  • 9/28 (SUN) 2:00-5:00: Blatchford Forest Garden Workday, Greenfield Converge @ the Four Rivers Charter School (7-12th grade) (248 Colrain Rd. Greenfield) and explore the Blatchford Forest Garden in the fall of its 7th year. These gardens are open to the community for harvest - so come get oriented to them!
Learn about the plants there, take some divisions of mints and sunchokes, harvest some burdock roots and chickweed... and help put the garden to bed for the year. We'll be doing some mulching, tree work, weeding and more at the 4 garden sites at the school.

Regular Meetings take place from in the Owl & Raven Community Space in the Maplewood Shops off Conz St. in Northampton. If you are interested in becoming involved, please email us - [email protected] These meetings are organizational, and involve identifying places to plant, sources of funding, plants and volunteers; as well as garden design work.

There will be a number of work parties over the year, in which we prepare sites, plant, prune, mulch and harvest, as well as working on murals. Additionally, we intend to offer a few educational workshops, as well as regular wild plant walks in the spring. Keep checking this calendar for more information, and join the google group to stay updated.
